Beatrice is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist by the General Dental Council. Her passion for orthodontics has now led her to establish her own specialist practice in Knutsford’s landmark art deco building, in the heart of Cheshire. The building has been completely refurbished to create state of the art consultation and treatment rooms.
“I enjoy the team approach to providing our patients with the specialist care they deserve” says Beatrice who set up her own Orthodontist practice in Cheshire three years ago. “Knutsford was my first choice of location as I had already worked here for over six years. The town is friendly, relaxed and family orientated. This makes caring for patients extremely satisfying.”
Here is a brief outline of her extensive training, experience and special interests.
Beatrice graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Manchester where she won an award from the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry for her study of team care and patient satisfaction.
She went on to specialise in orthodontics and in 2003 was awarded a Master of Science in Orthodontics (MSc), also from the University of Manchester.
On completion of her specialist training, Beatrice was awarded a diploma in orthodontics and granted Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) with awards from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
During her postgraduate work, Beatrice also tutored undergraduate students in oral surgery and orthodontic nurses in clinical and digital photography.
Beatrice also has a special interest in the research and treatment of cleft lip and palate, the study of which has not only gained her an MSc in Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) team care, but has also led her into the field of charity work.
She is an active charity campaigner, dedicating her time and expertise to improving healthcare in developing regions in Kenya. In the early 1990s, she helped to set up Operation Smile Kenya and now spends a month each year in the country supporting the charity’s ongoing work.
Five years ago she launched her own foundation helping people with serious health issues in and around Funzi Island in Kenya, alongside teams of local healthcare professionals from the UK and overseas. The charity has grown to involve supporters from the UK who give of their wide range of skills and services.
